Creating News Articles for Your Website

Why should you write news articles for your Color Me Mine website?
Generating relevant content not only keeps your website up to date but helps with search engine optimization, rankings and results, keeps customers in the know about events in the studio, allows you have a direct URL link to a specific topic and allows you to more accurately track ad spends linking to a particular topic or purchase.

Creating a News Article
Go to www.[studioname]colormemine.com/wp-login.php You may also go to your studios website and scroll to the bottom and click login.
Locate “Sign In with Google”
Enter login credentials using the @colormemine.com email address.
Locate and hover over “Web” on the left hand side
Select “Add News” from the dropdown menu. Please note that to view a library of currently created News Articles, select “News” from the dropdown menu. To add a News Article from the “News” screen, locate the button labeled “Add News” and select.
Enter title in the field labeled “Enter Title Here”. Please note the Permalink for this News Article is generated by the title, so it is recommended to keep titles short but descriptive.
If necessary, the Permalink can be edited. Locate the Permalink and select “Edit” to make any changes.
Enter News Article content into the paragraph box. Regular content should be entered in Visual mode. Please note that if including links to Placefull, content will need to be entered in Text mode
Please note at any point a News Article may be saved as a draft by locating and selecting the button labeled “Save Draft” or may be previewed on the website by selecting the button labeled “Preview.”
Locate the section “Categories”
Select the “News” box.
Locate the section “Tags”
Enter tags as desired separated by a comma. (A Tag is a word or short phrase that will be used to categorize the article and can assist in searching for related content)
Select “Add”
Locate the section “Featured Image”
Select “Set Featured Image”
Choose a Featured Image from the previously uploaded images on the Media Library or upload a desired Featured Image.
Please note the Featured Image dimensions should be 800 px x 400 px with relevant content centered at 540 px. Images sized for PlaceFull are this size.
Select “Publish”

Editing a News Article
Go to www.[studioname]colormemine.com/wp-login.php
Locate “Sign In with Google”
Select and enter login credentials using your @colormemine.com email address
Locate and hover over “Web” on the left hand side
Select “News” from the dropdown menu.
Locate the applicable article.
To edit, either hover over the article title and select “Edit” from the menu options that appear below OR click the article title to automatically be directed to the editing screen.
Make edits as desired.
Select “Update”
